Galivanting with Gaudi, in Barcelona
Barcelona is Gaudi, and Gaudi is La Sagrada Familia. On our second visit to this beautiful city, although we hopped around its attractions, it feels like the entire visit revolved around Sagrada. But we also imbibed the city’s quintessential European spirit, from the wide boulevards to the narrow twisty streets of old town.

Seville, not just for locals anymore
We came for worldschooling hub, and stayed for authentic Southern Spanish atmosphere. But we forgot to visit the barber!!

Soportujar - A Witchy Place
Soportujar is about an hour’s drive from Granada along a dramatic and twisty mountain road. The centuries-old village has a rich history of witchcraft and mystic legends, and has more recently decided to permanently dedicate itself to a kind of folk pre-Hershey’s Halloween, making for quite a tourist attraction.

Granada, Granada, Granada moya!
The fountains, the orange blossoms, the little streets filled with souvenirs, the twisty paths, the daily churros and chocolate... and the magic of the people filling the streets. This little place had us wishing so much that we could stay just one extra day.

Finally, Spain!!
Having been to other cities in Spain, I’ve always imagined Madrid as a stuffy, more business version of Barcelona. But over our 2-day stop there, we realized it has a magic of its own -- green, grand and beautiful!

Hanging out in Buenos Aires
Rain myth-busting experiments, scavenger hunts through Palermo Soho, endless games of Kombio, and escape rooms — we had a grand time in Buenos Aires. Oh, and Masha found a sports mafia circuit!

Fancy Food Feasts: Buenos Aires aka “Is. It. Steak?!”
Perhaps more than any other nation-food pair (with the possible exception of Italy and pasta), Argentina is the land of steak. And boy, did we steak. But even if red meat isn't your thing, there's lots to drool over in Buenos Aires.

Where to Stay in Buenos Aires — a Fair and Balanced Guide
Short term visitors to Buenos Aires are encouraged to stay in either Palermo, Recoleta, or San Telmo. Collegiales is another up and coming neighborhood with a more relaxed vibe. Check out our recommendations after exploring BA for a month.

Five Days in Buenos Aires — an Itinerary
Buenos Aires seems to be on everyone’s list of best places for digital nomads, and rightly so. A unique and beautiful mixture of all things European and Latin American, it really rewards a longer stay, but you can see and enjoy the highlights of the city in five days.

Eat, Play, Pack
After seven months of travel, we came back for a stopover in the US to see family and friends, and to recharge.

Into the Future with Petronas
Driving out of the Kuala Lumpur’s airport, the city's dramatic skyline studded with towering skyscrapers left us in awe, even after having been in Tokyo! Remember when Petronas Towers took the mantle of tallest building in the world from Sears Tower in ‘96? It was a big deal! Today, however, the KL skyline has a lot more to offer, including the ominous Merdeka 118, the 2nd tallest building in the world.

Koohling our Heels in Koh Lanta
Koh Lanta is the essence of a chill beach town, while still having fantastic coffee, great food, decent transportation — and plentiful massages.

Chiang Mai, Kap-Kun-Krup!
As we were packing up, we reflected on all the fun quirky things that made our monthlong stay here special…

Six Months in
After six months on the road, a reflection on some of the unexpected challenges of long term travel.

Celebrating New Years’ in Chiang Mai
For the first time since Kochi, Kerala 13 years ago, we were ringing in the new year in the middle of a giant party — and it was amazing!

Chiang Mai - All the Food That’s Fit to Eat
Thai food is legendary, and with a month on our hands, we sampled it all: night markets, shacks, restaurants, food tours, amazing cooking classes. And of course, Durian!

The Elephants in the Room
After more than a week of vegging out in Chiang Mai, we went on a whirlwind 1-day tour to see everything north Thailand has to offer — elephants, temples, waterfalls, etc. Spending three hours with a family of elephants was definitely the highlight.

Chiang Mai Coffee Mania
Having joined the local Facebook groups before coming, I knew that there were a lot of high quality coffee shops in Chiang Mai, but I was not prepared for the madness that we’d discover.

Siamese Cocktails
For a relatively small city, Chiang Mai has more than its share of craft cocktail places. While they may not be quite world class level, they do boast some excellent flavors.

Hello Chiang Mai!
Our first few days in Chiang Mai, our first stop in Thailand, proved a shock to our system after Japan. The warm air, the pungent smells, the intensely flavorful food, the unexpected torrents of expats, the (pleasantly) charged energy — was an utter contrast to our past month.
